4th Annual Darcy Aston Memorial Lecture: “A New Age in Groundwater Management”

February 12 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Environmental Studies Program invites you to this year’s Darcy Aston Memorial Water Lecture and Potluck. Join us as we discuss California’s opportunity to become a leader in water management through implementation of its landmark groundwater legislation, the Sustainability Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Prior to the passage of SGMA in 2014, California lagged behind many other states in groundwater management. Now, with careful implementation of the law, California has an opportunity to transform into a model for the West and other water-challenged parts of the world.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Christina Babbitt of Environmental Defense Fund. After the lecture and panel discussion (~7:00pm), the event will move to Bren 4016 for the community potluck. Guests are encouraged to bring a food item to share.
