Discussion: “Taking Elitism Out of Sustainability”

February 13 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The environmental movement is historically a movement of privilege. Under capitalism, sustainability has been monetized as advertisements insist we need new products to live an ecofriendly life. Come discuss how environmentalism must be viewed in the lens of social justice and led by those most affected, as well as how sustainability can be made accessible to all.

This series is meant for discussions that are that are critical and analytical and go wherever you all want to take it. Discussions are 5:30-6:30pm in the Women’s Center conference room (located on the first floor of the SRB) and tea and snacks are provided. All identities are welcomed and encouraged in the Women’s Center!
