International Conference on Chinese Religio-Environmental Ethics and Practice at UCSB

January 11 - January 12

This mini-conference will bring together cultural anthropologists and cultural historians at UC Santa Barbara to explore some of the ways that traditional Chinese religious cultures can inform and enrich the construction of a modern environmental ethics that can help people deal with the physical and social effects of industrialization, species decline, and the human transformation of the natural landscape.  The results may have significant impacts, not only within China, but across the world.
