Bill Shelor, Community Member

Bill graduated from UCSB in 1979 with a degree in Environmental Studies, with an emphasis in Land Use Planning. He was a Sustainability Planner for Grants and Development in the Division of Student Affairs. He served as the Chair of the CSC Subcommittee on Communications. Bill was named to the inaugural City of Goleta Planning Commission in October 2006. Since 2006 Bill has served as the City of Goleta’s representative to the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District’s Community Advisory Council. Bill retired from UCSB in summer 2012 and is still actively working as a community member with TGIF.

Jordan Sager, Facilities Management Representative

Jordan Sager earned his Master’s degree from UCSBs Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, specializing in energy and climate studies with an emphasis in institutional sustainability. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management from the University of Redlands, where in 2004 he conducted the University’s first Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory as his thesis project. Jordan now works for the Physical Facilities division at UCSB where he manages the LEED Green Building program and assists in the development of campus energy efficiency projects. Jordan is also a co-founder of Santa Barbara’s Emerging Green Builders organization and maintains a Regional Chair position in the California Central Coast Chapter of the US Green Building Council.

Mo Lovegreen, Director, Campus Sustainability and Executive Officer, Department of Geography

Mo Lovegreen served as the administrative sponsor for the students to originally get TGIF in place and has served as an advisor to TGIF since its inception. Mo is a LEED™ accredited professional and serves as an advisor to the Chancellor’s Sustainability Committee, The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF), the Renewable Energy Initiative (REI), Chair’s the Chancellor’s Subcommittee on Water, and manages the sustainability change agent teams for the campus.

Jewel Persad, Campus Sustainability Coordinator/TGIF Grants Manager

Jewel Persad joined the Administrative Services Department in September 2013, as the Campus Sustainability Coordinator and TGIF Grants Manager.  Jewel earned her Master’s degree from UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental Management, where she specialized in Water Resource Management She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental studies from San Francisco State University.
