This year, UCSB has four CNI Fellows focusing on transportation, carbon offsets, campus resiliency, and student engagement.

Foran didn’t start off as a climate justice advocate: he actually studied a range of different subjects before focusing on climate issues.

Not only did I get to learn more about green building sustainability and get hands-on project management skills with a “real world” project, it also got me interested in pursuing a career in building sustainability.

To ensure student participation in the Carbon Neutrality Initiative (CNI), the Bonnie Reiss Carbon Neutrality Initiative Fellows Program was started in 2015, which funds a student engagement fellow as well as two project based fellows.
